First trees bert plantagie corporate forest planted

The first trees of the bert plantagie company forest were planted in Leersum on the 16th of February, 2023. This forest is being realised for us by Trees for All. In this way, we compensate part of our CO2 emissions and contribute directly to a better living environment.

These forest trees trap CO2, purify the air, promote biodiversity and provide plenty of recreational opportunities for everyone. And they will do so for decades, or maybe even for over a hundred years!

The choice of Leersum for this purpose is not accidental: Bert Plantagie spent most of his youth there and is still strongly connected to that place. Trees will also be planted in our name by Trees for All in Madagascar. The impact of this project there is great and extends beyond environment and climate: it also promotes social development. The chameleon symbolising our more sustainable choices has its origins on this island.

We do not currently use trees from our corporate forests in our furniture. The wood we use for that purpose is FSC certified or comes from production forests managed by our suppliers who also take care of replanting.
